Biography
Ns. Mahathir, M.Kep., Sp.Kep.Kom, is an expert in HIV/AIDS nursing with a deep commitment to global health promotion and eradication efforts around HIV. He has participated in numerous international conferences in various countries, contributing to the global dialogue on HIV/AIDS issues and health promotion. With a Master's degree from Universitas Indonesia and a Bachelor's from Universitas Andalas, Mahathir’s academic and professional expertise spans across community nursing, disaster nursing, family and nursing.

Mahathir’s contributions extend far beyond the clinical setting. He is a key member of the Sustainability Team at Universitas Andalas, focusing on advancing the university's efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and make significant strides toward sustainability. His work in these areas reflects his dedication to creating lasting, positive change.

Additionally, Mahathir plays an instrumental role in organizing and managing international events at the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Andalas. Notably, he contributed to the success of the International Conference of the Faculty of Nursing, which invited prominent figures such as Prof. Creswell and Michelle Cleary. He has also been central to the success of international programs such as credit earning opportunities, summer schools, and more.

Mahathir’s commitment to community support is evident in his participation in the YSEALI (Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative) program, where he worked to support and empower vulnerable communities. His efforts to drive change in global health and sustainability continue to make a substantial impact, positioning him as a key player in nursing and health promotion both nationally and internationally.
